Την Πέμπτη 30 Ιανουαρίου, οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες του 1ου Δημοτικού Σχολείου Μελίκης, με τη συνοδεία του Συλλόγου Διδασκόντων, συμμετείχαν στον καθιερωμένο εκκλησιασμό στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίας Παρασκευής Μελίκης, τιμώντας τη μνήμη των Τριών Ιεραρχών, προστάτων των γραμμάτων και της παιδείας.

Οι Τρεις Ιεράρχες — ο Μέγας Βασίλειος, ο Γρηγόριος ο Θεολόγος και ο Ιωάννης ο Χρυσόστομος — υπήρξαν σπουδαίες μορφές της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας και του ελληνικού πνεύματος. Έζησαν κατά τον 4ο αιώνα μ.Χ. και ξεχώρισαν τόσο για το θεολογικό και συγγραφικό τους έργο όσο και για την προσφορά τους στην κοινωνία και την εκπαίδευση.

• Ο Μέγας Βασίλειος, επίσκοπος Καισαρείας, υπήρξε υπόδειγμα κοινωνικής προσφοράς και φιλανθρωπίας, ιδρύοντας τη «Βασιλειάδα», ένα από τα πρώτα οργανωμένα κέντρα περίθαλψης.
• Ο Γρηγόριος ο Θεολόγος διακρίθηκε για το υψηλό θεολογικό και φιλοσοφικό του έργο και τη βαθιά του σκέψη.
• Ο Ιωάννης ο Χρυσόστομος, πατριάρχης Κωνσταντινουπόλεως, έγινε γνωστός για τους πύρινους λόγους του, την αγάπη του για τον άνθρωπο και τον αγώνα του για κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη.

Στο πλαίσιο του μαθήματος των Θρησκευτικών, προηγήθηκε και ακολούθησε σχετική ενημέρωση και συζήτηση στην τάξη, ώστε οι μαθητές να γνωρίσουν καλύτερα το έργο και τη σημασία των Τριών Ιεραρχών ως προτύπων παιδείας, ήθους και πνευματικής καλλιέργειας.

Ο εορτασμός των Τριών Ιεραρχών αποτελεί μια σημαντική ευκαιρία να αναδειχθούν οι αξίες της μόρφωσης, της αγάπης προς τον συνάνθρωπο και της σύνδεσης της γνώσης με τον ανθρωπισμό, αξίες που παραμένουν διαχρονικά επίκαιρες και καθοδηγητικές για τη σχολική κοινότητα .

Celebration of the Three Holy Hierarchs at the 1st Primary School of Meliki

On Thursday, January 30th, the pupils of the 1st Primary School of Meliki, accompanied by the teaching staff, attended a religious service at the Church of Saint Paraskevi in Meliki, in order to honor the Three Holy Hierarchs, patrons of education and learning.

The Three Holy Hierarchs — Saint Basil the Great, Saint Gregory the Theologian, and Saint John Chrysostom — are among the most important figures of the Orthodox Church and Greek intellectual tradition. They lived in the 4th century AD and are distinguished for their theological, literary, and social contribution, as well as for their profound influence on education.

• Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea, was a pioneer of social welfare and philanthropy. He founded the “Basileiad,” one of the first organized charitable institutions, providing care for the poor and the sick.
• Saint Gregory the Theologian is renowned for his exceptional theological thought, philosophical depth, and eloquence.
• Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople, became famous for his powerful sermons, his love for humanity, and his struggle for social justice.

Before and after the visit to the church, relevant educational activities and discussions took place in the context of the Religious Education lesson, helping students understand the role of the Three Holy Hierarchs as protectors of education and as enduring models of moral integrity, wisdom, and spiritual cultivation.

The celebration of the Three Holy Hierarchs offers an important opportunity to highlight timeless values such as education, solidarity, and the harmonious connection between knowledge and humanity—values that continue to inspire and guide the school community today.
